This study looked to see if eating while watching television creates a risk for poor nutrition and excess body weight.
Key findings: Eating supper while watching television had an effect on fruits and vegetable consumption and overall diet quality. For example, eating supper while watching television was associated with more soft drink consumption, a higher percentage energy intake from sugar, fat and snack food. Both watching television and eating while watching television were positively and independently associated with overweight.
