Sithole F, Veugelers PJ (2008)

This study looked at the relationship between body mass index and childhood asthma.
Key findings: Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. This research showed that there appeared to be a linear association between BMI and asthma. This means that as BMI increased, the occurrence of asthma also increased. This was independent of allergies, sex, and socioeconomic factors.
